Growing up in New York City exposed me to the visual clash of street art, decaying walls, torn-up ads, and the way time and the elements created an aesthetic of their own on these surfaces. My surroundings and a fascination with the abstract expressionism movement played a major role in me becoming an artist. My subjects are extracted from any aspect of daily life in New York; urban nature, present day personal experiences, current events or childhood memories and family relationships in life and books. I’m interested in creating emotionally charged imagery, by employing bold colors, jagged linework, hieroglyph inspired text and abstract patterns.
