When I was young, I never thought I’d become a visual artist. I wasn’t the child that was always drawing or picked up the watercolors at 2, though I did spend a lot of time daydreaming which by my teenage years became dreams of rock-stardom. "April Flowers" was the painting chosen by the MTA Artists Unite Subway Elevator Poster Project. After moving back Uptown in April 2014, I started painting the flowers again. I never imagined my flowers could bloom in the subway. This week I was dropping off Luca at daycare, when one of the ladies there greeted me and congratulated me on the poster at the subway station.
